Born in Birmingham, United Kingdom but raised in
St Catherine, Jamaica until his late teens. As many other children growing up in Jamaica with a passion for music Boomah sang at church and performed at numerous school concerts. He went on to sing on his local Dance Hall Sound System “Small Axe” (when his Grandmother would let him!)

Within a couple of months of stepping off the plane he performed alongside the leading names of the international Reggae Industry as he was asked to be the opening act at 1990’s British Reggae Awards. Boomah continued to nice up the Reggae/Dancehall venues in the UK alongside his Dance Hall DJ partner UK Apachi before they both stepped into the Drum and Bass/Jungle Arena in 1993. In 1994/5 when the UK was gripped by the new phenomena called Jungle, Boomah recorded a track with Shy FX called “Who Run Tings” the track entered the chart at number two and was number one by the following week. Boomah went on to support UK Apachi, Shy FX and Congo Natty on international tours, tearing up venues each and every time.
Boomah returned to the UK in 1990 and has since resided in London.
David Boomah’s vocals have continued to be in high demand since his first recording and he has worked with an amazing list of Producers including Shy FX, Congo Natty, Marcus Visionary, Rene LaVice, Potential Badboy Calibre, Curtis Lynch, Cotti, Von D, Serum, Sly and Pacso and Benny Page to name a few. Although music is a part time job for Boomah and his other passion youth work keeps him just as busy he has managed to notch up 14 underground no 1 singles to date and his debut album “One World Many Cultures” lived up to expectations by hitting the number 1 spot
on a number of underground Charts and being nominated for Album of the year alongside the likes
of Disclosure and Rudimental in 2013!
His music has featured in the British cult film “Rolling With The Nines” and he has brought his infectious vibes to some amazing festivals such as: Glastonbury (UK), Boomtown Fair (UK), One Love Festival (UK), Gurten Festival (Switzerland), Barcadi NH7 Weekender (India), Revolution Festival (Lithuania) and Outlook Festival (Croatia)
With releases on V Recordings, Ram Recordings, Philly Blunt, Spearhead and Topping Drum and Bass, Dubstep, Hip Hop, R&B and Breaks Charts simultaneously David Boomah continues to stretch versatility to new levels.
He spreads a message of love, positivity and equality
when he is not busy killing sound boys and he shows
no sign of stopping anytime soon!
Late 2013 David Boomah pulled an amazing group
of musicians together and can now be booked for performances with or without his Live Band; The Unknowns. Their sets include: Drum and Bass, Jungle, EDM, Reggae, Dubstep, Hip-Hop, R&B and Blues.
Boomah is currently working on his sophomore album which is shaping up to be something very special with
an array of featured artists and genres encapsulated
into one amazing project.
His Remix Album One World Many Remixes also went straight to number 1 in early 2014.
